What Is LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas)?

LNG is natural gas—composed primarily of methane (CH₄)—that has been cooled to approximately –162°C, transforming it into a liquid. In this liquid state, natural gas occupies about 1/600th of its original volume, making it economically viable for storage and long-distance transportation.
